People on the Move: Long Island promotions, new jobs

Brendan Lynch, of Setauket, has been hired as assistant principal of P.J. Gelinas Middle School in Setauket. Lynch was assistant principal at Carrie P. Weber Middle School in Port Washington.

Debra Winter, of Quogue, has been hired as director of compliance and special projects for Three Village Central School District. Winter was superintendent of Springs Union Free School District in East Hampton.

Dr. Deepa Malineni, of Roslyn Heights, has been hired as a primary care physician at NY Health in North Massapequa. Malineni was a clinician at Premier Internal Medicine Associates in  Richmond Hill, Queens.

Catherine P. Boyle, of Garden City Park, senior managing director, not-for-profit banking at Webster Bank in Jericho, has been elected to the board of directors of the United Way of Long Island in Deer Park.

Kevin S. Buchel, of Old Bethpage, president and chief operating officer at NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc.  in Amityville, has been promoted to chief executive and president.

Fred Falcones, of Bay Shore, has been hired as assistant principal of Ward Melville High School in East Setauket. Falcones was dean of students at Farmingdale High School in Farmingdale.

Tim Cipolla, of Oyster Bay, has been hired as assistant principal at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School in East Northport. Cipolla was social studies chairperson and intern principal at EPIC High School North in South Richmond Hill, Queens.

Olivia Perrone, of Merrick, has been hired as a staff engineer at H2M architects + engineers in Manhattan. Perrone is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.

Dawn Mihalek, of Sayville, director of service planning and dispatch operations at Star Group in Woodbury, has been elected to the board of directors of the United Way of Long Island in Deer Park.

Cristina Gulotta, of Massapequa, vice president of marketing at Cona Elder Law in Melville, has been promoted to chief operating officer and head of marketing.

Michael Wilson, of Sayville, has been hired as vice president of food and beverage at The Bristal Assisted Living in Ronkonkoma. Wilson was regional culinary director at Aramark in Sparkill, New York.

Arielle Schor, of Roslyn, has been hired as a staff engineer at H2M architects + engineers in Melville. Schor is a recent graduate of Cornell University.

Sarah Irfan, of Lindenhurst, has been hired as a staff engineer at H2M architects + engineers in Melville. Irfan is a recent graduate of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook.

Isabelle Alves, of Middle Island, has been hired as a staff designer at H2M architects + engineers in Melville. Alves is a recent graduate of Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis.

Richard Longo, of Garden City, has been hired as a staff engineer at H2M architects + engineers in Melville. Longo is a recent graduate of Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania.

Dani Shehada, of Seaford, a science teacher at Berner Middle School in Massapequa, has been promoted to supervisor of career and technical education in the Massapequa School District.

Katie LoRusso, of Massapequa Park, has been hired as director of fine and performing arts in the Massapequa School District. LoRusso was the music chairperson at H. Frank Carey High School in Franklin Square.

Patrick Kaplan, of Farmingville, has been hired as director of health, physical education and athletics in the Westhampton Beach School District. Kaplan was the coordinator of athletics in the Copiague School District.

Meg Sheehan, of Stony Brook, has been hired as assistant superintendent for human resources in the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District. Sheehan was a principal at the John Philip Sousa Elementary School in Port Washington.

Jennifer Lewner, of Massapequa, has been hired as assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction and assessment in the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District. Lewner held the same position in the Valley Stream 30 Central School District.

Aimee Fox, of Port Jefferson Station, has been hired as an associate at Schneider Buchel in Woodbury. Fox was an associate at Jakubowski, Robertson, Maffei, Goldsmith & Tartaglia in St. James. 

Jason M. Aaron, of Woodbury, has been hired as counsel at Schneider Buchel in Woodbury. Aaron was a partner at Fullerton Beck in Melville.

Robert Doyle, of Baiting Hollow, has been hired as assistant superintendent for finance and management services in the South Country Central School District. Doyle was a business official/treasurer in the East Quogue School District.

Cynthia Doerler, of Stony Brook, executive director of the Suffolk County Bar Association in Hauppauge, has been elected chair of the Legal Services of Long Island Advisory Council in Islandia.

Carol A. Dunning, of Glen Cove, chief legal officer at Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty in Cold Spring Harbor, has been promoted to chief legal and operating officer.

Elizabeth Flagler, of Levittown, head of internal and external communications at PSEG Long Island in Uniondale, has been elected vice chair of Legal Services of Long Island Advisory Council in Islandia.

Elizabeth Post, of Merrick, executive director, Nassau County Bar Association in Mineola, has been elected secretary of the Legal Services of Long Island Advisory Council in Islandia. 

Omar Garcia, of Bay Shore, has been hired as assistant principal at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School in Copiague. Garcia was a middle school and high school Spanish language teacher in the Hicksville Public Schools.

Dr. Matthew J. Weiss, deputy physician-in-chief and director of the surgical oncology program at Northwell Cancer Institute, has been promoted to senior vice president and chair of the department of surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine in Hempstead, Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park and North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset.

Gabriela Ortega, of Rosedale, Queens, has been hired as a hotline and volunteer coordinator at Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program in Garden City. Ortega was a master of social work intern at the same place.

Kevin McElroy, of Oceanside, has been hired as assistant principal at the John G. Dinkelmeyer Elementary School in North Bellmore. McElroy was an assistant principal at The Riverview School 277Q @404 in Long Island City, Queens, and The Riverview School 277Q @419​ in Flushing, Queens.

Karen Horoszewski, of Smithtown, has been hired as assistant superintendent for finance and operations in the West Babylon School District. Horoszewski was assistant superintendent for business in the Locust Valley Central School District.

Lauren Fretto, of Franklin Square, has been hired as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in the Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District. Fretto was principal of Babylon Memorial Grade School in Babylon.

Sam Rausman, of Lynbrook, chief executive at Protect Your Family Trust/ Medicaid Pooled Income Trust in Lynbrook, has been elected to the board of directors of the Alzheimer's Association Long Island Chapter in Melville.

Andrew McIntosh, of Brooklyn, has been hired as director of curriculum in the Elwood School District.  McIntosh was assistant principal at Valhalla High School in Valhalla, New York.

Dr. Gregory Minutillo, of St. James, has been hired as an orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Associates of Long Island in West Babylon, Commack, East Setauket, and Patchogue offices. Minutillo was a doctoral fellow at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
