Media personality Bill O'Reilly says he is stepping away from his various activities due to an undisclosed medical condition, but "hopefully [will be] back in the saddle shortly."
"Hey No Spin Nation," began a brief note on Billoreilly.com posted Tuesday. "Sorry I am dealing with a malady. We have great doctors so we’ll fight the good fight. Doesn’t affect my fingers so will update you on me, news cycle, and anything major. Hopefully, back in the saddle shortly."
O'Reilly, 76, has been particularly busy post-Fox News: He hosts a popular YouTube show, "No Spin News" and a radio program, "The O'Reilly Update," heard on 300 stations. And there are the books — dozens over the years, including, most recently, "Confronting Evil: Assessing the Worst of the Worst."
The Levittown native hosted Fox News' most popular show ("The O'Reilly Factor") over a two-decade span until he was forced off the network in 2017 over reports of sexual harassment and multiple payments made to settle those. (In a statement at the time, he said it was "tremendously disheartening that we parted ways due to completely unfounded claims.")
O'Reilly couldn't be reached immediately for comment.
