Lori Loughlin back on social media after 7 years

Lori Loughlin returned to Instagram on Monday following a seven-year absence.

The 62-year-old actor, who grew up in Hauppauge, posted a video with the caption, “Wake up, San Francisco! I’m back on IG,” referencing the catchphrase her character Rebecca Donaldson used on the long-running sitcom "Full House." The clip featured her and her former “Fuller House” cast members John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, Scott Weinger and Andrea Barber. Everyone individually recited the line: “Wake up San Francisco!”

Loughlin then referenced a scene from the series where her character returned from maternity leave.

“Hi, I’m Rebecca Donaldson, and I’m welcoming myself back to the show,” she said in the video, nodding to her Instagram return.

The video also included a tribute to Bob Saget, who died in January 2022, using archival footage of his character Danny Tanner.

Stamos responded to the post, calling the footage “cute.”

Loughlin disappeared from social media in 2019 following the college admissions bribery scandal. She and her then-husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were accused of paying $500,000 to get their daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose into the University of Southern California as athletic recruits. The pair pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud in May 2020.

The actor served a 2-month federal prison sentence and was released in December 2020.

Since the scandal, Loughlin has gradually returned to acting. She reprised her Abigail Stanton character in 2021 on Hallmark’s “When Hope Calls,” a “When Calls the Heart” spinoff. She also made an appearance as a fictionalized version of herself in a 2024 episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

In October 2025, she and Giannulli made headlines after they announced they were separating after nearly three decades of marriage. That same month, her former co-star Stamos spoke in her defense on the “Good Guys” podcast, placing blame on Giannulli. “She didn’t deserve to be dragged through that,” he said.
