At Pink Coast Boutique in Merrick, where pink meets New York City energy, the walls are adorned with the Statue of Liberty and disco ball photos, pink skateboards and flowery wallpaper.

"Whenever customers walk into one of our pop-ups, I want it to feel like stepping into a real-life Pinterest board," says owner Samantha Manfredi.

Pink Coast, which opened online in April 2020, has had various pop-up locations throughout New York and at colleges in the tri-state area before opening a pop-up shop located within the Fashion Factory in Merrick since the end of July.

"I focus on all of the little details to create an aesthetic space that makes people want to take a picture and share it. My goal is to design the cutest, most inviting atmosphere that gets girls genuinely excited to shop with us."

Pink Coast’s biggest moment thus far, adds Manfredi, took place at an event space in Bethpage this past August, following a collaborative brand event with KNM Apparel.  Hundreds of shoppers from Long Island showed up to support the partnership. Manfredi says another collaborative event with KNM Apparel is set to take place in the spring to celebrate Pink Coast's 6th birthday.

"I wanted to create something of my own, so I began experimenting with designs and selling just a few pieces," the business owner explains. "What started as a small hobby has now grown into my full-time job, and I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to turn my passion into a career."

The name of the boutique stems from two of Manfredi’s favorite things: the color pink and a coastal vibe. "I felt the two of them together just clicked for me," she says.

Clothing runs the gamut from cozy hoodies, sweatpants, tees, and soon, pajama sets.

"We’re best known for our signature hoodies that contain a heart on the sleeve," she says. "We are your go-to for cute, comfy essentials ‘made with love.’ The brand tag inside our hoodies even says ‘made with love in NY.’"

Prices start at $18 for makeup bags to $75 for mock neck sweatshirts. Hoodies and sweat sets are the brand’s most popular items.

The Merrick pop-up is expected to remain  open through the spring. It has no set end date, but there are periods where Pink Coast is sold out temporarily. Customers can find the latest restocks on the company's social media pages (@pinkcoastboutique).

In the coming months, Pink Coast will be visiting colleges, businesses and fairs across Long Island. Local sites include Adelphi University, LIU Post, Farmingdale State College, That’s Hot Pilates, Pilates ABsession, Williston Park Street Fair, Bellmore Street Fair, St John's University, Stony Brook University, Long Beach Boardwalk Vendor Fair, and more.

"Since we’re primarily online, we use pop-ups as a way to create fun, memorable experiences for our customers," adds Manfredi.
