As promised in June, when Long Island's second location of The Barn opened, in Huntington, Irena Angeliades is on schedule with her next revamped Dairy Barn drive-thru. Coffee lovers can now get a taste of the playful lattes and iced coffee offerings that ignited TikTok earlier this season at the new spot, on Larkfield Road in East Northport.
Owners Angeliades and her husband, Michael Wieczorek, who also own Northport’s Greek spot Symi, are behind The Barn. Angeliades, her father, and sister purchased 49 Dairy Barn stores on Long Island 15 years ago. The Angeliadeses sold off a bunch of properties to new owners, including some that have relaunched as Ready Coffee, while keeping other stores in Merrick and Huntington.
Featuring For Five Coffee, The Barn is a coffee-lovers’ convenient escape, especially those who like their java with a side of fancy. The hot and iced specialty drinks are colorful and fun — a rainbow cookie latte is topped with requisite rainbow cookies, the Summer 'Smores latte is topped with toasted marshmallows and graham crackers, while a Powdered Donut is sprinkled with cinnamon and crowned with an actual doughnut. There's even a Dubai chocolate matcha latte. Specialty drinks run between $7 and $8. More basic coffee beverages, such as chai lattes, vanilla lattes and plain old iced coffees, can be had as well as a variety of iced teas, lemonades — the green matcha lemonade is a standout — and soft serve ice cream.
In addition to Insta-worthy lattes, provisions include orange juice and eggs for breakfast, chips for after school snacks, nut butter for school lunches, ice pops for playdates, and Entenmann’s for when you’re having company.
Next up: Patchogue, then Center Moriches.
