It’s all about who you know, the saying goes. For Commack resident Rob DelGiorno, co-owner of Whiskey Neat in Patchogue, it’s part of the reason that the new Frankie’s Table has quickly come to life in the former Woodhull Tavern in Commack.

DelGiorno knew Woodhull's owner, Frank Weik, from their days at the Harbor Club in Huntington and John Anthony’s on the Water in Babylon. Enter Chris Emanuelo and Kathy Seminario, of Big Belly Que, his now-partners in Frankie’s Table.

More bar than a restaurant, Frankie‘s makes 90% of its pub-style comfort food in-house, from scratch.

Start with the cheesy, piping hot French onion soup ($11), smashburger sliders ($18) with bacon jam and pickles, a brisket-heavy poutine ($16) or requisite wings. Salads include burrata ($16), or try the crispy chicken sandwich ($22), 9-ounce burger ($26) or prime rib French dip ($32). There’s a sliced-to-order prime rib ($48) for those who prefer their beef sans bun. Cocktails are similar to what you find at Whiskey Neat, with the menu organized by spirit and prices $14-$18.

As for Frankie — that's actually DelGiorno’s daughter.

"It’s great when people ask for a word with the owner, Frank," DelGiorno said. "I'm like, yeah, she's 11 and in the middle school."

The cozy space seats about 50 people for now, possible 60 when its new tables come in. "My dad’s making them for us," DelGiorno said.

It really is all about who you know.
