A Brentwood man was arrested on DWI charges after his SUV crashed into another SUV in Atlantic Beach on Wednesday evening, injuring three people, including an 11-year-old boy, Nassau police said.

Job Giuliana, 30, of Brentwood, was charged with driving while intoxicated after, police said, he drove his 2020 Chevrolet Equinox east on Beech Street into a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse headed west on the same street near Scott Drive around 5:33 p.m., Nassau police said in a Thursday news release.

Giuliana crashed into a Traverse being driven by an unidentified 52-year-old man, with a 49-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy as passengers, police said. The boy, who suffered "severe body trauma" in the crash, was airlifted by police helicopter to a hospital along with the woman, who complained of body pain, according to the police. Long Beach Fire Department crews took the man driving the Traverse to a hospital, where he was treated for a cut to his head and released, the police said.

Officers on the scene treated Giuliana for a severe leg injury, applying a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, the release said. The Long Beach Fire Department took him to a hospital for treatment, where he was arrested after he was found to be intoxicated, the police said.

Giuliana is charged with second-degree vehicular assault, second-degree assault and two counts of third-degree assault, driving while intoxicated and second-degree reckless endangerment. Giuliana will be arraigned in First District Court when it is medically practical for him to appear, according to the police.
