A man suffering a medical episode crashed his vehicle into a section of North Side School in East Williston on Sunday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

The 77-year-old driver lost control of the 2019 Jeep about 6:15 p.m. as he traveled east on East Williston Avenue before slamming into the north side of the school, which is part of the East Williston School District, the police said in a news release late Sunday.

Emergency medical personnel took the driver to a hospital for evaluation, according to police, who did not reveal the nature of the man's medical problem or provide an update on his condition.

There is no criminality suspected, according to authorities, and the building was deemed safe after an evaluation by the East Williston Fire Department.

The Nassau County Emergency Service Unit pulled the Jeep from the building.

An school district spokesperson not immediately respond to a call and an email late Sunday seeking additional information.
