An East Meadow motorcyclist was killed in a Tuesday morning crash involving a school bus full of Hicksville students, Nassau police and the school district said.

Antonio Bosotina, 21, was heading east down Old Country Road on a 2022 Kawasaki around 7:26 a.m. when he "was in a collision with a 2018 yellow school bus," Nassau police said in a news release. The bus had 28 students on board. None were injured.

Bosotina was transported to a hospital, where a physician pronounced him dead, police said.

No other injuries were reported due to the crash, which remains under investigation, police said.

In a letter to the Hicksville school district community, Superintendent Theodore Fulton said the crash involved a bus the district contracts through Educational Bus Transportation. Fulton said the district was cooperating with the police investigation and expressed condolences to the motorcyclist’s "family friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."

"We are grateful to report that no students on the bus were injured," the superintendent added in the letter. "All students were safely cared for following the incident, and families of those directly involved have been contacted."

Counseling and other support services will be made available at district schools to students and staff "who may need them in the coming days," Fulton said.

Educational Bus Transportation is working with police to determine the cause of the accident, spokesperson Lloyd Singer said in an email to Newsday.

“Our thoughts are with everyone involved and their families," Singer added. "The accident remains under investigation, and it is too early to comment further.”
