The 18-year-old man stabbed to death in Hempstead Sunday has been identified as Michael David Grajeda Suazo, of Hempstead, Nassau police said on Tuesday.
Police were investigating the stabbing following two 911 calls, Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said Monday.
The first 911 call said someone was in need of assistance, Ryder said, and the second said a man had been stabbed several times.
Police responded to 545 Fulton Ave. where Suazo was found bleeding in the street from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, Ryder said.
Police said a suspect has not been identified. Ryder said homicide detectives were interviewing the two witnesses who called 911 and police were also looking at video surveillance near where the stabbing occurred.
“We don't know who the subjects are at this time, but we do know that he was violently attacked, and I don't know if it's one subject or multiple subjects,” Ryder said Monday. “We're going to review video now, and also [speak] to witnesses.”
Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
