I Do!: Caleb Fiedtkou and Megan Eiseman, of Seaford

Caleb Fiedtkou and Megan Eiseman’s love story wasn’t written in the stars. It was written one page at a time.

Fiedtkou, 31, penned his feeling for his future wife every day in the year leading up to their wedding.

“To my dearest Megan, my best friend, my forever love and my entire world, you have my whole heart,” read the first entry.

He presented his love diary as a book album on the morning of their wedding.

“It was very impressive,” recalled Eiseman, 30. “Not a lot of guys can do that for a girl.”

The competitive runners fell in love after meeting as members of the cross-country team at Farmingdale State College in August 2014. She chatted him up on social media and the pair went on their first date in September. He asked her to be his girlfriend that day.

Since then, he has written her more than 700 loves notes and letters.

Although they always knew marriage was the goal, the two may have saved their speed for races. It was 11 years later when Fiedtkou, a quality control specialist living in Bethpage, popped the question to Eiseman, a marketing coordinator from Seaford. They both wanted to graduate and establish their careers before getting married, he said.

On Aug. 19, 2023, on the shoreline at Robert Moses State Park, not far from the Fire Island Lighthouse, Fiedtkou quoted the last of the love notes for the week leading up to the proposal: “I want our love to shine bright. This moment will now be one of my favorite memories. And Note 9 has come to an end, because Megan Elizabeth Eiseman, will you marry me?”

A secretly arranged photographer, who had posed as another beach stroller, captured it all.

The two were married on Sept. 14, 2025, and didn’t realize until later that their wedding date mirrored the day they officially became a couple — Sept. 25, 2014.

They often read from their book of love, opening it to the entry written exactly a year ago.

“He’s my safe space,” Eiseman said. “I love being around him. It feels like home when we’re together every day.”
