Eight people were displaced when a three-story home caught fire shortly after noon on Monday in Inwood, officials said.

Firefighters from Inwood and nine other departments brought the fire under control in 40 minutes, the Nassau County Fire Marshal said in a news release. The house is at 152 Jeanette Ave., according to Capt. Nicholas Corrado, the deputy county fire coordinator.

There were no injuries, but authorities called the Red Cross to assist the displaced residents.

Investigators were trying to determine the fire’s cause, which was deemed accidental and not suspicious, officials said. Town of Hempstead Building Department staffers were notified to "assess damage and code compliance" of the burned building, according to the release.

Representatives for the town and Inwood Fire Department could not be reached Monday afternoon.
