$10 lottery scratch-off ticket gets Ronald Stuckey Revocable Trust of Freeport $3M

A top prize for a New York Lottery $3 Million Bonus Stars scratch-off ticket sold in Freeport has been collected by a revocable trust based in the village, the state lottery said this week.
The $10 scratch-off ticket was sold at the Torres Deli & Grocery on Broadway. Lottery officials said the grand prize was taken as a lump-sum payment of $1,334,553 after taxes by the Ronald Stuckey Revocable Trust of Freeport.
Trust agreements can be revocable or irrevocable, and a revocable trust is a so-called living trust “that outlines the assets you want to give a beneficiary” and dictates how those assets are to be distributed, according to the MetLife website.
Lottery officials did not say when the winning ticket was sold.
The $3 Million Bonus Stars scratch-off games have a 1 in 3.99 overall odds of winning a cash prize of any size, but there are just three winning tickets for the big prizes — two of which have been claimed to date, and one still outstanding, according to the state lottery.
The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 5,878,683.33, the lottery said.
The top prize can also be claimed in $250,000 annual installments before taxes, according to the lottery website.
The second-place prize for the ticket is $5,000. Three of those eight available winning prizes have been claimed to date.
The lottery website said scratch-off games have generated over $4.2 billion in sales during the current 2025-26 fiscal year, with school districts in Nassau County receiving more than $225 million in Lottery Aid to Education funds during that period.
The total amount of aid received by schools in Suffolk during that period was not immediately available.
