Gas line break closes Second Street in Mineola, police say

All lanes of traffic on Second Street in Mineola between Main Street and Willis Avenue are closed due to a gas line break, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Authorities did not provide additional details about the cause of the gas line break.
Wendy Frigeria, a spokeswoman for National Grid, said the break was related to work by a contractor shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday.
No customers were impacted and there were no injuries, she said.
Police are advising motorists to use alternative routes and avoid Second Street.
