Fire damages Laurel Hollow home, displacing 3 residents, fire marshal says

Three residents were displaced after about 200 firefighters responded to a raging fire at a Laurel Hollow home early Friday that caused parts of the building to collapse, the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office said.
At about 2:03 a.m., the Syosset Fire Department was alerted to a house fire at a Cold Spring Road residence.
The fire marshal's office said the blaze started outside the large residence and extended up and into the roofline, where it quickly spread, causing several parts of the structure to collapse.
About 20 additional fire departments, or about 200 firefighters, from both Nassau and Suffolk counties assisted in putting the fire out within one hour.
No injuries were reported, assistant chief fire marshal James Hickman said in a statement.
Three adult occupants were displaced and assisted by the American Red Cross.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal Investigations Division and the Nassau County Police Department Arson/Bomb Squad detectives were investigating the cause of the fire.
