Five adults and two children were displaced after a fire erupted in their New Hyde Park home early Sunday.
One of the residents was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injures, authorities said.
Shortly before 2 a.m., the New Hyde Park Fire Department was called to a two-story Cape-style house on Pilgrim Street, according to the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office.
The fire was brought under control within half an hour, with the assistance of the fire departments of Floral Park, Manhasset-Lakeville, South Floral Park, and Garden City Park.
The Nassau fire marshal and police department’s arson and bomb squad were investigating the cause of the fire.
