An unidentified man was killed crossing Nassau Expressway early Tuesday, Nassau police said.

The man was crossing Nassau Expressway at the intersection of Bay Boulevard in Inwood at 5:09 a.m. when he was struck by a northbound white 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee being driven by a 34-year-old man, police said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau police medic, police said.

The driver remained on scene; the investigation is ongoing, police said.

No further information was immediately available.
