Dario Marsalek, 19, of Astoria, dies in motorcycle crash on Wantagh State Parkway

A 19-year-old Queens man died Sunday afternoon after he lost control of his motorcycle on the Wantagh Parkway and crashed into a guardrail, according to New York State Police.
Dario Marsalek, of Astoria, and his passenger were thrown from a 2014 black Suzuki heading northbound from Jones Beach just before the Goose Neck Bridge when he collided with the rail at about 5 p.m., authorities said.
The passenger was thrown to the grassy area on the right side of the highway, but Marsalek was thrown into the roadway, according to the state police.
Both were taken to the hospital, but Marsalek was pronounced dead.
The passenger was in critical condition, police said.
