<p>President Donald Trump&#39;s fast pace since his return to office is affecting Long Islanders in many ways, from the tax cuts in his &quot;Big, Beautiful Bill&quot; to cuts in safety net programs and stepped up efforts to oust undocumented people.</p>

<p>The government shutdown has idled many federal workers on Long Island and across New York State, disrupted air travel and thrown the federal SNAP food program into uncertainty.</p>
