Silverio Saldana-Trejo, of Center Moriches, struck and killed by driver in 7-Eleven parking lot

A pickup truck driver turning into a gas station parking lot in Center Moriches on Wednesday struck and killed a man walking in the lot, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
The man, later identified as 60-year-old Silverio Saldana-Trejo of Center Moriches, was declared dead at the scene, the department wrote in a news release. The crash occurred in the lot of a 7-Eleven at 231 Wading River Rd. about 4:40 a.m.
The driver of the pickup, a Ford F-150, was unhurt, police said. Newsday is not identifying the driver because they have not been charged with a crime.
A person answering the phone at the 7-Eleven declined to address the crash and hung up.
The release did not identify the cause of the crash or whether the driver would be charged.
