Suffolk police: Boy, 13, on e-bike in East Islip hits deer, suffers serious injuries

A 13-year-old boy riding an e-bike Thursday afternoon in East Islip was seriously injured after crashing into a deer, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
The boy was heading north on Woodland Drive near Gwendolyn Place at 5:42 p.m. when the e-bike collided with the deer. The police said the teen was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.
Neither the extent of his injuries nor an update on his condition were available late Thursday.
The e-bike was to undergo a safety check, according to the police. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Suffolk police Third Squad detectives at 631-854-8352.
