A motorcyclist died after crashing into a car in Medford on Saturday morning, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

The crash happened shortly after 6:50 a.m. on Route 112. Patchogue resident Edison Aguilar, 20, was driving a 2008 Honda motorcycle north on the state highway, Suffolk police said in a news release.

He collided with a 2016 Toyota Matrix that was driven by a 44-year-old Medford resident who was turning left at the Southaven Avenue intersection.

Aguilar was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital, according to police. Neither the Toyota driver nor a passenger in the car were injured.

No criminality is suspected in the crash, a police spokesman told Newsday.

Suffolk police are investigating the fatal crash and ask anyone with information to call the Fifth Squad at 631-852-8552.
