A woman crossing the street in East Farmingdale was struck and killed Saturday night, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

The woman was trying to cross Route 110 at Conklin Street from east to west when she was stuck by the driver of a southbound Hyundai at about 8:30 p.m., the department wrote in a news release.

"The pedestrian was crossing the roadway where there is no crosswalk and stepped in front of the vehicle," the department's press office wrote in an email.

She was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where she was declared dead.

Her name won't be released until her family is notified, the release said. The driver won't be charged, the email said.
