A woman is dead after she was found unresponsive in the swimming pool of a home in Huntington on Thursday, police said.

Around 3 p.m., police responded to a Rodsfield Court home after receiving a 911 call that a relative had pulled a resident of the house, Marcia Amarando, from the pool, Suffolk County police said in a news release.

Officers performed CPR until ambulance personnel from the Commack Fire Department took over.

Amarando, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they believe the incident is non-criminal in nature.
