Pedestrian fatally struck by tractor trailer in North Bellport is identified as Denis Hernandez, of Bellport

The pedestrian killed after he was struck by a tractor trailer in North Bellport on Thursday night has been identified as Denis Hernandez, of Bellport, Suffolk County police said on Tuesday.
Around 10:35 p.m. Thursday, Hernandez, 27, was in the roadway of Station Road, south of Martha Avenue, when a southbound tractor trailer struck him.
Police did not confirm if the driver remained at the scene.
Hernandez was taken to NYU Langone Hospital — Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation is ongoing, police said.
