A man was found dead after a fire tore through a Wyandanch home Saturday afternoon, according to Suffolk County police.

Officials responded to a call around 1:50 p.m. after a fire broke out at a two-story home on Cypress Street, police said in a news release. A person was found dead in the home after the fire was extinguished, officials said.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was alone in the house and no one else was injured, according to police.

Suffolk County police homicide and arson detectives are investigating but believe the cause is noncriminal, the release said.
