LIRR's Babylon Branch on time after broken rail caused morning disruptions

The Long Island Rail Road's Babylon Branch resumed normal service after a broken rail caused numerous disruptions Tuesday morning.
Crews worked to fix a broken rail near Amityville, the MTA website said. The repairs were completed just before 11 a.m.
The delays were felt through rush hour and into mid-morning: The 9:19 a.m. from Penn Station to Babylon was operating 15-20 minutes late, the LIRR reported.
The 9:02 a.m. train from Babylon to Penn Station operated 10 to 15 minutes late.
In addition, the 8:30 a.m. train from Babylon to Penn Station was canceled.
