LIRR unions have gone on strike for the first time since 1994. NewsdayTV's Andrew Ehinger reports.

'Parties were unable to reach a deal'

Crews were working Friday to repair a large sinkhole near Exit 49 of the LIE in Melville that partially swallowed a car on Thursday. Two lanes remain closed.
