Bo Bichette hits three-run home run in eighth inning as Mets rally past Giants

Bo Bichette launched a go-ahead three-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning after an intentional walk to Juan Soto as the Mets rallied for a 4-2 victory over the Giants on Sunday at Citi Field.
Brett Baty opened the eighth with his second career pinch-hit homer as his drive off Carson Seymour cleared the leftfield fence by a few feet.
A.J. Ewing followed with a single and was sacrificed to second by Luis Torrens. Rightfielder Jung Hoo Lee made a sliding catch on Francisco Lindor’s sinking liner for the second out. After Seymour threw two pitches out of the strike zone, the Giants intentionally walked Soto. Bichette then hammered an 0-and-1 slider into the leftfield seats for his 16th homer.
Tobias Myers, promoted from Triple-A Syracuse before the game, stranded a runner in the eighth for his first win with the Mets (65-78). Kodai Senga pitched a perfect ninth for his sixth save in six chances.
Christian Scott struck out seven and walked none in 4 2⁄3 innings. The righthander permitted three of his four hits in the fourth, when the Giants went ahead on Lee’s bloop two-run single.
Cesar Perdomo held the Mets to three singles in six innings in an impressive first MLB start.
Perdomo gave up a one-out single by Soto before ending the first with strikeouts of Bichette and Carson Benge. The lefthander stranded a runner by getting Soto on a pop-up to end the third.
Jonah Tong will be recalled from the minors to make his sixth MLB start (and first this season) on Monday in Miami. Tong is 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in three relief appearances this season.
