Tom Seaver’s 1969 World Series ring was sold at auction last weekend for $854,122, according to Dallas-based Heritage Auctions.

Seaver, known as “The Franchise” to Mets fans, passed away in 2020 at the age of 75. His family put up 188 items from the Hall of Famer’s collection, according to Heritage.

Some of the items that were also sold included Seaver’s 1973 National League championship ring, which went for $201,300, and a replica of Seaver’s 1992 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Plaque, which sold for $170,800.

Identities of the winning bidders were not released.

The auction, which was held Saturday and Sunday, brought in a total of more than $38.6 million, according to Heritage.

The top seller was a 1909 Honus Wagner baseball card, which used to belong to the late baseball player and announcer Joe Garagiola and went for $3.59 million.

“This was an exceptional auction, with multiple seven-figure results and numerous world records set,” Chris Ivy, Heritage’s director of sports auctions, said in a news release. “It featured many ‘firsts,’ which always are prized by serious collectors, and featured various artifacts tied to defining moments in sports history which deservedly found homes in elite collections.”
