Yankees' Max Fried, Jazz Chisholm Jr. to join Aaron Judge at All-Star Game

Aaron Judge, voted in as a starter for the July 15 All-Star Game in Atlanta, will be joined by teammates Max Fried and Jazz Chisholm Jr.
“Hopefully we can grab a couple of more guys in this room to have with us, too,” Judge said after the Yankees snapped their losing streak at six games by beating the Mets, 6-4, on Sunday at Citi Field.
Fried was named to his third All-Star team and Chisholm made his second.
“It’s an honor,” said Fried, who is 11-2 with a 2.27 ERA in his first season with the Yankees after signing an eight-year, $218 million contract. “We have a lot of players on this team that I feel like are really deserving. Hopefully the next week or so, we can add a few more . . . It’s a cool experience to go.”
Fried said he anticipates an extra-special feeling, given that he pitched for Atlanta in his first eight seasons.
“Obviously, I spent my whole big-league career there and it means a lot,” he said. “It will be cool to be able to see some familiar faces and be in the stadium I was in the first part of my career.”
Chisholm is hitting .245 with 15 homers, third on the club, and an .841 OPS in 59 games.
“It got harder once I got hurt,” said Chisholm, who missed 28 games with a right oblique strain. “But I came back, got hot and I feel like I worked hard for it and earned it.”
Judge, who made his seventh All-Star Game, praised Fried and Chisholm.
“Coming to a big market, signing a big deal as a free agent, it’s always tough, a lot of pressure, a lot of expectations, and I think he’s definitely exceeded a lot of expectations,” he said of Fried. “What Jazz has been doing all year, hitting the ball all over the field, making some great plays . . . excited for both of them to be in Atlanta. They both deserve it.”
