GREENBURGH — Good news, Knicks fans.
OG Anunoby went through a full practice with the team Friday, taking a major step toward being available when the Knicks open the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday against the winner of Sunday’s Game 7 between Detroit and Cleveland.
Anunoby missed the final two games of the Knicks’ sweep of the 76ers in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series after straining his right hamstring.
“Any time anybody is able to do anything like that, it’s always encouraging,” coach Mike Brown said of Anunoby’s return to practice. “Everything we did today, he did.”
Brown would not project whether Anunoby will be available for Game 1 of the next series.
“You know, at the end of the day, I’m going to wait and let the medical group tell me each day what he can do,” Brown said. “We’ll see if they tell me something different tomorrow. But it’s definitely encouraging to see somebody be out, somebody be able to go out there and practice, full practice, like OG did.”
Anunoby was not made available to talk to the media.
