John Harbaugh’s debut as Giants coach starts in prime time next season.

The Giants announced Monday their season opener will be Sept. 13 hosting the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football on NBC. It’s the first time the teams have met in Week 1 since 2023 when the Cowboys won, 40-0, at MetLife Stadium.

The Giants snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Cowboys with a 34-17 win in last season’s finale. In that game, the Cowboys pulled their starters in the second half.

Since the start of the 2011 season, the Giants have won just two season openers, in 2016 and 2022. It will be Harbaugh’s first challenge as he attempts to reverse the Giants’ three-year streak of losing seasons.

The home opener also sets the stage for Jaxson Dart's first full season at quarterback. Two of Dart’s four wins last season as a rookie came against NFC East opponents.
