FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The Jets plan to continue to give Breece Hall the football after giving him a huge contract extension.

Hall and the Jets reached an agreement on a three-year deal worth $45.75 million on Friday, multiple league sources said. Hall’s $15.25 million average annual salary will make him the third-highest paid running back in the league behind Saquon Barkley ($20.6 million) and Christian McCaffrey ($19 million).

“Cried for the first time since I tore my ACL,” Hall posted on X Friday afternoon. “This day really hit differently for me.”

The Jets placed the franchise tag on Hall in March. If they hadn’t worked out a new deal by July 15, Hall would have had to play on the $14.3 million tag or hold out. General manager Darren Mougey got ahead of that with this deal that includes $29 million in guarantees.

“I anticipate addressing the Breece Hall contract stuff,” Mougey said after last month’s NFL Draft. “I anticipate kind of turning my attention to Breece and that contract situation.”

Hall, a second-round pick in 2022, is coming off his first 1,000-yard rushing campaign. He ran for 1,065 yards and four touchdowns and caught 36 passes for 350 yards and a score last season.

A dual-threat back, Hall has averaged 1,453 scrimmage yards over the last three seasons. The only time he didn’t have at least 1,300 scrimmage yards was his rookie year when he tore his ACL.

“Shoutout everyone in my corner,” Hall posted with a heart emoji. “Lot of work left to do.”
