FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Justin Fields went through the entirety of Jets practice on Monday for the first time since he was carted off the field last week.

The Jets' new starting quarterback led the offense in 11-on-11 team competition on Monday. Fields moved well, rolling out a couple of times on his throws. He suffered a dislocated toe on his right foot last Thursday when he was stepped on after rolling out. He returned to action quickly, though.

Fields did individual and positional drills and played seven-on-seven over the weekend. On Monday, Fields was 6-for-7 in full team periods and completed all of his passes in seven-on-seven.

“He made some good throws out there,” coach Aaron Glenn said. “When Justin gets on the field, we’re going to let him be who he is. There are some things that he did that I was very pleased with, but there's also some things that he’s got to get better at too. He knows that.

“He was out there with us today. I look forward to him just maturing and getting better.”

Glenn said Fields “was limited” but in a way that the Jets wanted him limited. Glenn wouldn’t reveal what he meant by that. The Jets signed Fields to a two-year, $40 million contract in March. Tyrod Taylor ran the first-team offense the past two practices.

New Jets receiver Tyler Johnson called it “a blessing” to have Fields back practicing in full.

Johnson has caught passes from some great quarterbacks, including Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford, and has been impressed with how Fields is trying to learn and improve every day.

“Young guy, he just has his best foot forward day in and day out,” Johnson said. “You can see it the way he approaches practice, meetings. I’m very excited to see and be a part of what he’s doing this year.”
