FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Quincy Williams returned to practice on Wednesday after spending four weeks on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury.

“It felt amazing,” the All-Pro linebacker told Newsday after practicing fully. “It felt like I got out of detention and got a chance to hang out with my homeboys at recess.”

Williams was only designated to return to practice and still needs to be activated from IR before he can play in any games. The Jets have three weeks to do that. But Williams suggested it won’t take that long and that he expects to play on Sunday against the Bengals.

“I ain’t coming, I’m here,” he said. “I ain’t coming, I’m here for real.”

Wilson still out

Garrett Wilson, who missed Sunday’s game with a knee injury, did not practice. Aaron Glenn labeled Wilson as “day-to-day.” This Sunday will be the Jets’ last game before their bye. The prudent thing may be to let Wilson’s knee heal and hope he comes back strong after the bye.

Injury updates

Sauce Gardner and Kene Nwangwu remain in the concussion protocol and did not participate in practice.

Breece Hall, who hurt his knee in Sunday’s loss to Carolina, was limited in practice. Jermaine Johnson (ankle), Tyrod Taylor (knee) and Qwan’tez Stiggers (hip) were also limited. Michael Carter II (concussion) practiced and should return after missing two games.

Glenn indicated that he’s “real confident” that a “a lot of these guys” on the injury report will be able to play Sunday.
