Newsday's annual look at the top high school boys badminton players in Nassau, listed in alphabetical order (for singles), heading into the season. All statistics are from last season, unless otherwise noted.
Edward Chang, Jericho, Fr.
Chang takes over at first singles for the Jayhawks looking to guide the team to an eighth straight county title and fifth consecutive Long Island championship.

Michael Li, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, Soph.
Li went 14-0 at first singles for the county championship runner-up and was seeded No. 1 at the 2024 individual county championship.
Tyron Mai, Wheatley, Sr.
Mai went 8-6 at first singles and forms a trio of strong senior singles players for Wheatley with Ricky Deng and Peter Ouyang.
Shenglin Tang, Great Neck South, Jr.
Tang has competed at third singles for the last two seasons and takes over the second singles spot this year.
Sunny Wu, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, Soph.
Wu went 10-4 at second singles and was part of the county doubles runner-up with Alex Ross.
Arthur Xu, Great Neck South, Soph.
Xu went 16-4 at second singles and will take over the first singles spot for the Rebels.
Owen He and Alex Li, Jericho, Srs.

The duo went 10-2 at third doubles and slots into the first doubles spot for the Jayhawks this year.
Botond Acosta and Mofan Yu, Great Neck South, Srs.
The talented duo will anchor the first doubles spot for the Rebels, looking to be a key factor in Great Neck South’s quest for a county title.
