Port Jefferson baseball falls to Tuckahoe in state Class C regional final

Jack Krause pitched a complete game, allowing five hits with eight strikeouts in Port Jefferson’s 2-0 loss to Tuckahoe (Section I) in the Class C state regional baseball final at Somers High School on Saturday. Connor Brice allowed just two hits and struck out 14 for Tuckahoe (14-12).
Juniors Ben Amadio and Derek Wonderland each had a single for Port Jefferson (15-7).
"Krause pitched a great game; he couldn't have done any better," Port Jefferson coach Jesse Rosen said. "Their pitcher just threw an even better game."
Tuckahoe scored runs in the third and sixth innings. The Tigers move on to the state semifinals, where they will play Saratoga Central Catholic on Friday in Binghamton.
