(Last week's rankings in parentheses)

1. Stony Brook School (24-2) (1)

The Bears beat Poly Prep, 3-0, to win the school’s first state title. They earned the Mid Atlantic Private School crown.

2. Plainedge (23-0) (2)

The pitching rotation of Jaxson Torres and Taylor Nitsch continue to be the standard. The Red Devils have pitched four straight shutouts, including two in a playoff sweep over North Shore. Torres struck out 14 in the playoff opener.

3. Massapequa (20-3-1) (3)

They are once again proving to be the class of AAA on Long Island. They swept a tough Oceanside squad in the AAA playoffs.

4. Connetquot (20-3) (6)

DJ Filippone is one of LI’s top two-way players. He commands the zone on the bump and he’s a clutch hitter. He pitched a gem in the T-Birds win over Commack to advance to the Class AAA final.

5. Eastport-South Manor (21-1) (7)

The Sharks outlasted East Islip in the winner’s bracket final of the Class AA, 4-3, in 13 innings. They edged Northport in the first round in nine innings — they know who to win close games.

6. Bellmore JFK (17-4) (8)

The Cougars rallied from six runs down to an 11-8 win to eliminate Clarke in the Class AA playoffs.

7. Kings Park (19-2) (10)

The Kingsmen beat Shoreham-Wading River in the first round of the Class A playoffs. Now they meet Sayville, a team that shut them out twice in the final week of the regular season.

8. Kellenberg (17-8) (NR)

The Firebirds are one win away from defending the CHSAA title. Richie LaVacca had two solo home runs and an RBI single in an 11-4 win over St. Dominic in Game 1 of the best of three title series.

9. Longwood (20-2) (5)

The top-seeded Lions have had a wonderful season. They eliminated Patchogue-Medford and need two more wins against Sachem East and Commack to reach the Class AAA finals against Connetquot.

10. Wantagh (17-5-1) (NR)

Ryan Tullo had three hits and two runs and Sal Ansaldi added two hits and three runs in a 14-0 win over Seaford to eliminate the Vikings. Now it’s on to Wheatley.

On the cusp: Garden City (20-4), West Islip (19-3-1), Smithtown East (20-2), Center Moriches (17-3), Clarke (19-3).
