BOYS LACROSSE

Matthew Becker, Holy Trinity: He made 18 saves to lead Holy Trinity to a 7-5 win over St. Mary’s, securing a bid in the state CHSAA Class B tournament.

Jack Cavalieri, Middle Country: He scored four goals and tied the score for Middle Country, which trailed by three entering the fourth quarter before winning 8-5 over Bay Shore. Faceoff specialist Ajay Sullivan made it possible with five wins in the fourth quarter.

Charlie Conway, Long Beach: In a battle for first place in Nassau II, Conway scored the winner with 0.7 seconds left in Long Beach’s 7-6 win over Lynbrook. He had four goals and an assist.

Zachary Fishman, Commack: It’s been a tremendous season for Fishman, whose 10th goal against Ward Melville served as the winner in the second OT period. He also had an assist.

Alex Kantrowitz, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK: His seven points made the difference in Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK’s 10-8 win over North Shore.

Matt Triolo, Glenn, and Anthony Raio, Hills: Both attackmen broke Syosset’s Jeff Cohen’s career goals record this week, with Triolo currently atop the record books with 265 goals and Raio at 262. It’s been a special five years not only for Triolo and Raio, but for every spectator that has seen their greatness along the way. Raio can continue to add to his total as playoffs begin.

Andrew Snyder, Bayport-Blue Point: He made 14 saves in a 9-7 win over Sayville and followed it with a 13-stop performance as the Phantoms defeated Comsewogue, 5-4.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Elle Bitran and Avery Brown, Kings Park: Bitran’s 12 saves led Kings Park to an impressive 6-5 win over a strong Rocky Point team. Brown led the offense with four goals.

Violet Harrison, St. John the Baptist: Her team-high six points (five goals, one assist) led the Cougars past Xavieran in the state CHSAA Class A semifinal.

Skylar Kilfeather, Long Beach: She scored six goals and assisted another for third-seeded Long Beach in its first-round playoff win, 16-4, over sixth-seeded MacArthur.

Abigail LoNigro, Lyla Coffey and Emma Synan, Miller Place: A 15-14 thriller for Miller Place means shoutouts for all three Panthers. LoNigro scored two of her four goals to aid a fourth-quarter comeback, Coffey led the team with five goals and Synan caused six turnovers.

Alyssa Lorefice, Smithtown West: Trailing by five entering the fourth quarter, Lorefice scored the winner to complete the comeback for Smithtown West in its 13-12 win over Rocky Point. She had two goals and three assists for a team-high five points.

Keira Pirozzi, Ward Melville: Two of Suffolk’s best battled it out, and Pirozzi made sure Ward Melville came out on top by scoring five goals in the Patriots’ 8-6 win over Northport.

Alyssa Tappin, Sachem North: Making 14 saves in a 5-4 win is impressive enough, but doing so against a talented Huntington side only adds to the feat.
