(Last week's rankings in parentheses)

1. St. Anthony’s (1)

Seven straight state titles can’t be taken for granted. Coach Keith Wieczorek and the Friars deserve all the praise they can handle after mounting yet another comeback against Chaminade in the NYSCHSAA Class AAA state title game to win, 13-12. St. Anthony’s (12-4) began the season atop these ranks and never lost its spot.

2. Chaminade (2)

Wednesday’s championship was a massive disappointment for the Flyers, which led 9-6 at halftime against St. Anthony’s. Chaminade (13-5) deserves credit for its fourth-quarter rally to bring the game to the very last possession, capping off a 13-win season in Greg Kay’s first season as head coach.

3. Garden City (3)

The defending state champions claimed the top seed in Nassau’s Class B and will host a playoff game Wednesday against the winner of No. 8 Calhoun and No. 9 Mepham. Garden City (15-1) cruised to wins over Plainedge and Bethpage this week.

4. Syosset (5)

A comeback win against Kellenberg kicked off the week for Syosset (14-2), but how about how the week finished? Ryan Rosenfeld’s overtime winner capped off a huge 13-12 win over Massapequa to hand Syosset the top seed in Nassau’s Class A. A home playoff game against No. 8 Hicksville awaits Wednesday.

5. Massapequa (4)

Massapequa (13-3) beat Connecticut's Darien before falling to Syosset, but let's take a moment to honor Nolan Wieczorek's 95 points, a new program record for single-season points with games still to go. Massapequa will own the No. 2 seed in Nassau’s Class A playoffs and host No. 7 Herricks on Thursday.

6. Wantagh (6)

Wantagh (12-3) capped off its regular season with a 18-6 win over Plainedge. The defending Long Island Class C champions hold the No. 1 seed and will host No. 8 Island Trees Wednesday.

7. Cold Spring Harbor (7)

The Seahawks have not lost since March. Cold Spring Harbor (13-3) beat Long Beach and Farmingdale and will travel to Hofstra on May 26 as the top seed in Nassau’s Class D for a semifinal matchup with No. 4 Oyster Bay.

8. Northport (8)

Northport (14-2) handily beat a fellow Class A contender in Sachem North, 17-11, and followed it with a win over Patchogue-Medford to complete an undefeated 14-0 season in league play. The top-seeded Tigers will host the winner of No. 8 Floyd and No. 9 South Fork Wednesday.

9. Manhasset (10)

Manhasset (12-4) takes a four-game winning streak into the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in Nassau’s Class B. A win over Seaford is the latest victory as the Set will host the winner of No. 7 Carey and No. 10 Jericho Thursday.

10. South Side (On the cusp)

The Cyclones beat Seaford behind Alec Notaro’s 27-for-28 performance at the faceoff X. South Side (11-5), a new arrival to the top 10, will host No. 7 Floral Park Thursday.

On the cusp: Port Washington, Sachem North, Farmingdale, Smithtown East, Mount Sinai
