Suffolk football team-by-team previews for 2025

DIVISION I
1. FLOYD (10-2)
Coach: Paul Longo, 31st year
Key Players: Ja’Quan Thomas, RB/LB, Sr.; Joe Melecio, C, Sr.; Jeru Hall, OT, Sr.; Jayden Johnson, DT, Sr.; Jake Rivera, DE, Jr.; Aisays Wallace, RB/LB, Sr.
The Colonials: They have won a record 15 Division I playoff titles, including the last two. Thomas rushed for 2,594 yards and 37 touchdowns last season and was Division I MVP. He will also play linebacker this year. If sophomore quarterback Alex Salamone and the offensive line mature Floyd will be tough to stop. Junior Derek Glock will have an impact at receiver and defensive back.

2. WARD MELVILLE (9-2)
Coach: Chris Boltrek, 12th year
Key Players: Hudson Philbrick, QB, Jr.; Joey Benedetto, RB/CB, Sr.; Joey Karpowicz, WR/CB, Jr.; Liam Cronin, MLB, Sr.; Victor Bergamaschi, LT/DE, Sr.; Anthony Fardellone, NT, Sr.
The Patriots: They return a bevy of talent on both sides of the ball. Philbrick passed for 1,230 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has a very talented receiving corps in senior JJ Alcindor and freshman Louie Lapp. Benedetto will lead the rushing attack. He rushed for 1,315 yards and 10 scores. Cronin is one of the best linebackers in Suffolk. He made 91 tackles.
3. LONGWOOD (8-2)
Coach: Sean Kluber, fifth year
Key Players: Kaden Reid, RB/WR/DB, Sr.; Kyon Sarwari, RB/OLB, Jr.; Craig Harty, RB/ILB, Sr.; Michael Duarte, OL/DL, Sr.; Giovanni Johnson, TE/WR/OLB, Jr.; Ed Princivil, OT/DT, So.
The Lions: They graduated 39 seniors but have a wealth of young talent, including sophomore quarterback Ryan Greene and junior receiver Travis Gibbs. The offensive line will start four underclassmen. Reid led Long Island in interceptions with eight. He is a special athlete who can score from anywhere on the field.
4. SACHEM NORTH (4-6)
Coach: Dave Caputo, eighth year
Key Players: Valdey Pierre, OL/DL, Sr.; Henry Sarro, WR/CB, Sr.; Luke LaRocca, QB, Jr.; Jon Giraulo, WR/LB, Sr.; John Licata, WR/DB, Sr.; James Chirichella, C, Jr.
Sachem North: The squad has reached the semifinals the past three seasons. To get back there they will heavily depend on LaRocca. He passed for 1,032 yards and eight scores. Pierre is a three-year starter and anchors the defensive line. North has qualified for the playoffs 37 times since 1977, more than any team in Division I.
5. SACHEM EAST (3-6)
Coach: TBD
Key Players: Jack Martines, OL/DL, Sr.; Ryan Lane, QB/MLB, Sr.; Logan Perotti, RB/OLB, Sr.; Brady King, TE/OLB, Sr.; James Dee, WR/DB, Sr; Frankie Colon, OL/DL, Sr.; Sal Sinacore, WR/DB, Sr.
Sachem East: They were stung by injuries last season. Lane was hurt in the first game but he returned healthy. Johnny Pitocco is part of a talented group of receivers. Sachem East will be led upfront by a strong senior class, including two-way lineman and Princeton commit Jack Martines.
6. WHITMAN (4-5)
Coach: Robin Rosa, 16th year
Key Players: Aiden Jorgensen, TE/LB, Sr.; Jordan Churchman, WR/DB, Sr.; Dominic Chiusano, OL/DL, Sr.; Alex Cerna, TE/LB, Sr.
The Wildcats: They are young at the skill positions. Quarterback Dodge Alaverdian will have talented sophomores Mark Rutledge (RB/LB) and Jason Thompson (WR/DB) as options. Whitman has reached the playoffs in five consecutive seasons. It is possible again if the younger players perform well. The lines will be led by Chiusano.
7. BRENTWOOD (2-6)
Coach: Rich DeJesus, ninth year
Key Players: Cris Peralta, RB/LB, Sr.; Amari Wallace, OL/DL, Sr.; Malachi Baker, WR/DB, Sr.; Wisin Pereira, OL/DL, Sr.; Gary Gonzalez, OL/DL, Sr.; Cristian Amaya, OL/DL, Sr.
The Spartans: They are built around Peralta, an all-Suffolk player. He rushed for 874 yards and 10 touchdowns and made 100 tackles from his linebacker spot. The strength will be the lines. Juniors Steven Cuello and Jonathan Martinez will bolster the units.
8. BAY SHORE (4-4)
Coach: Andrew Nevit, third year
Key Players: Xavier Hector, QB,Sr.; Jayden Monserrat, OL/DL, Sr.; Layton Avinel, TE/OLB, Sr.; Cato Thomas, RB/DB, Jr.; Nate Perez, OL/DL, Jr.
The Marauders: They have gone 4-4 in each of the last two seasons and are looking to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Juniors Khayden Alexander (RB/DB) and Jahsiere Bell (WR/DB) will help Hector and Thomas lead a revamped offense. Three-year starter Monserrat will anchor the lines. This is the 99th season of football at Bay Shore.
9. LINDENHURST (5-4)
Coach: Mark Frole, second year
Key Players: Ryan Murgatroyd, WR/LB, Sr.; Joe Scavone, RB/DB, Sr.; Hunter DeRonde, QB/RB/DB, Sr.; Alex Burmeister, WR/DB, Sr.; JT Fraioli, C/NT, Sr.; Michael Russo, QB/DB, Jr.
The Bulldogs: They have qualified for the playoffs in each of the last 11 seasons. The QB duties will be shared by DeRonde and Russo. They have a talented group of receivers, including sophomore Mike Pusey and junior Cole Petzold. The lines are inexperienced and need to jell quickly for Lindy to make another playoff run.
10. CENTRAL ISLIP (1-7)
Coach: Sean Christie, first year
Key Players: Jimmy Gaston Jr., RB/LB, Sr.; Elijah Wellington, WR/CB, Sr.; Jeffrey Burris Kirton, OL/DL, Sr.; Zaquan Marrow, RB/LB, Sr.; Aristides Holman, QB/DL, Sr.; Camari McDonald, WR/DB, Sr.
The Musketeers: They have won just one game in each of the past four seasons. New coach Sean Christie is hoping to change that. They will build their team around Gaston Jr. Wellington, McDonald, and junior Amare Motley lead a talented group of receivers. The O-line just has to give Holman time to get them the ball.
11. RIVERHEAD (1-7)
Coach: Don Nelson, first year
Key Players: William Healy, WB/CB, Sr.; William Stackevicius, TE/LB, Sr.; Nathan Nentwich, RB/DB, Sr.; Tatum Funn, RB/DB, Sr.; Erik Czyrski, OL/DL, Sr.; Braylen Blom, OL/DL, Sr.
The Blue Waves: They have good skill players but junior quarterback Josiah Rodney has to be the leader on offense. The defense allowed an average of 39 points last year. That number needs to be reduced significantly in order for Waves to win. Stackevicius will lead the defense.
12. PATCHOGUE-MEDFORD (2-6)
Coach: Greg Murphy, first year
Key Players: Aidyn Modeste, RB/DB, Sr.; Michael Xavier, OL/DL, Sr.; Marc Compere, WR/DB, Sr.; Gianni Leonardi, OL/DL, Sr.; Brett Rupolo, QB/DB, Jr.; Javen Eason, OL/DL, Sr.
The Raiders: They are on their third coach in two seasons. Murphy will bring stability to the program.
DIVISION II
1. HALF HOLLOW HILLS EAST (10-2)
Coach: Alex Marcelin, fifth year
Key Players: Daniel White, RB/DB, Sr.; Jayden Bryan, RB/LB, Soph.; Trevon Cole-Jenkins, OL/DL, Sr.; Keith McDowell, OL/DL, Sr.; Akio Johnson, LB, Sr.; Nick Sevilla, QB, Sr.
The RedHawks: They won a Suffolk title for the first time in program history last season and have the talent to repeat. Hills East fell to Carey, 37-36, in the Class II Long Island Championship. White is a dynamic running back who ran for 2,306 yards and 25 scores last season. Sevilla passed for over 1,500 yards and 13 touchdowns. Seniors Cole-Jenkins, McDowell, and Sebastian Damis lead a massive O-Line. Senior linebackers Johnson and Jake Pagliaro lead the defense which allowed just 11 points per game
2. EAST ISLIP (10-1)
Coach: Sal J. Ciampi, 25th year
Key Players: Dylan Bayer, OG/DT, Sr.; Niko Meyers, HB/DB, Sr.; Jake Simmons, RB/LB, Sr.; PJ Gannon, WR/S, Sr.; Mike Tramaglini, TE/LB, Sr.; Evan Gordon, OT/DE, Jr.
East Islip: The program has played in 14 Suffolk finals in Ciampi Jr’s tenure, winning five of them. Bayer was a finalist for the Zellner award as Suffolk’s top lineman. The line will be solid with Bayer and junior tackles Gordon and Makoa Jablonski. Junior A.J. Ierardi will take over at quarterback. Meyers and Simmons will stand out in the running game. Gannon will be a go-to wide receiver. Senior Jovan Bonilla transferred from St. John the Baptist and will be a force in the middle of the defense. East Islip has qualified for the playoffs 40 times in program history, more than any team in the division.
3. HUNTINGTON (5-4)
Coach: Ron Wilson, third year
Key Players: Jacob Guzik, QB, Sr.; Yasir Jones, RB/LB, Sr.; Titan Elysee, RB/LB, Sr.; Jack Kamenstein, WR/DB, Sr.; Ethan Lawless, OL/LB, Sr.; Frankie Algieri, WR/DB, Sr.
The Blue Devils: They scored 26 points per game and should be even better this fall. Jones and Elysee can score from anywhere on the field. Seniors Banny Soc Concua and Matt Ross will bolster the lines. Guzik passed for 1,225 yards and nine scores. Algieri, Kamenstein, and sophomore Patrick Hassett make up a talented receiving corps that gives Guzik many options.
4. BELLPORT (4-5)
Coach: Jamie Fabian, eighth year
Key Players: Braydon Cipp, QB/LB, Sr.; Nazir Turner, OL/DE, Sr.; Jaheim Talford, RB/DE, Sr.; Dave Lopes, OL/DL, Sr.; Kingston John, RB/DB,Sr.; Jacob Snedeker, OL/DL, Sr.
The Clippers: They are playing in their 50th season of varsity football and have been one of Suffolk’s top teams in that time, winning 13 county titles and six Long Island championships. Cipp can run and pass. Sophomore Matt Chojnacki along with Talford and John lead a strong running game. Junior Bryce Williams will help an experienced line with Turner, Lopes, and Snedeker.

5. CONNETQUOT (6-3)
Coach: Mike Konsevitch Jr., fifth year
Key Players: Vincent Feraca, QB, Sr,; Javon Barnwell, RB/DB, Sr.; Camryn D’Ambrosio, OL/DL, Sr.; Sonny Kowalevich, OL/LB, Jr.; Nick Mastriano, WR/FS, Soph.; Bryan Boss, HB/DE, Sr.
The T-Birds: A return to Division II after spending the previous two years in Division I. Connetquot will have an explosive offense, led by Feraca. He threw for 2,242 yards and 25 touchdowns. Barnwell is a dual threat as a rusher and a receiver. He had 12 scores. Colin Darcey will help the O-Line. Receivers Mastriano, Ebo Price and Jonas Mendez are a talented group. Junior Marcus Anglin will help the run game.
6. NORTH BABYLON (5-5)
Coach: John Rowland, fifth year
Key Players: Tristan Wojt, TE/DE, Sr.; Sean Staley, OL/Dl, Sr.; Jason Mack, TE/DE, Sr.; Logan Baptist, QB/S, Sr.
The Bulldogs: They are young but expect to make another playoff appearance come November. The “Ground and Pound ‘Dawgs” will rely on their core group of seniors as well as juniors Nathaniel Green (OL/DL) and Dominic Prestano-Rollo (RB/DB). The Bulldogs have had a bevy of talented running backs for many years. Who will emerge as the next one?
7. NORTHPORT (5-4)
Coach: Pat Campbell, eighth year
Key Players: Simon Blissett, QB/LB, Sr.; Greyson Cabrera, RB/LB, Sr.; Luke Loiacono, RB/LB, Sr.; Danny Miller, TE/LB, Sr.; Shawn Aliperti, OL/DL, Sr,; Carson Ciaio, WR/DB, Sr.
The Tigers: They have reached the playoffs in five consecutive seasons and 12 of the last 13. Northport has a good group of skill players led by Blissett. Juniors Thomas McGovern (RB/DB) and Sean Morrissey (WR/DB) will add more options to the offense. The Tigers traditionally run the Wing-T, but may run more shotgun to open things up.
8. COMMACK (4-4)
Coach: Joe Reggio, 12th year
Key Players: Jonathan Maio, TE/DE, Sr.; Lincoln Riggs, QB, Jr.; AJ Arizonis, WR/OLB, Sr.; James Brusca, WR/DB, Sr.; Eric Florentino, OT/LB, Sr.; Keith Abruzzo, RB/DB, Sr.
The Cougars: They move into Division II for the first time since the two district high schools merged for the 1988 season. Commack had a young team last season and just missed the playoffs. Riggs should infuse life into the offense. He will be helped by senior Danny Levine (RB/DB). Senior Mike Cotto will bolster the line. Maio is one of the top linemen in Suffolk.
9. NEWFIELD (5-3)
Coach: Nick Adler, fifth year
Key Players: Dante Powell, RB/DE, Sr.; Carlos Silvestre Gomez, OT/DT, Jr.; Max Chery, OT/DE, Sr.; Yousef Abumuasallam, OG/DT, Sr.; Brayden Cotty, OG/DT, Jr.; Matt Giglio, FB/TE, Sr.
The Wolverines: They just missed a playoff spot after suffering three close losses. The strength of the team will be the lines, with size and experience. Along with Powell, junior Cayden Williams (RB/S) and sophomore Lucas Bryan (WR/S) will inject some life into the offense.
10. SMITHTOWN EAST (2-6)
Coach: Greg Lauri, first year
Key Players: Antonio Marrone, QB/DB, Sr.; David Sack, OL/DL, Sr.; James Huxtable, WR/DB, Sr.; Jonathan Jean, WR/DB, Sr.; Charlie Weydig, TE/LB, Sr.; Hunter Hughes, RB/LB, Sr.
The Bulls: They have their third coach in the last four years. East hasn’t reached the playoffs since 2016. They will throw more than they have in the past. Weydig and senior Matt Santangelo give the Bulls two tight ends who can catch the ball. Sack and senior Christian Cherry will lead the lines on both sides of the ball.
11. CENTEREACH (2-6)
Coach: Adam Barett, 12th year
Key Players: Jake Mikochik, RB/LB, Sr.; Jamal Joda, OL/DL, Sr.; Dylan Cohen, OL/DL. Sr.; Zach Sandora, WR/LB, Sr.; Jake Vitiello, WR/DB, Sr.
The Cougars: They will rely heavily on junior quarterback Jason Cesa and running back Jeremiah Rivera. Mikochik will get most of the carries. The lines will be anchored by Joda and Cohen as the team tries to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2023.
12. COPIAGUE (2-6)
Coach: Phil Fortuno, first year
Key Players: Roger Rowe, QB/FS, Sr.; Kevin Mackey, RB/LB, Jr.; Jonathan Marine Suarez, OL/DL, Sr.; Frandi Fernandez, TE/LB, Sr.; Andrew Blanco, OL/DL, Sr.; Jayden Herrera, RB/LB, Sr.
The Eagles: They ended their Long Island record 42-game losing streak by winning their final two games last season. Rowe can run and pass. Junior Trameer Jones (WR/CB)and sophomore Jaiden Pernell (RB/DE) are expected to be impact players right away. Marine Suarez and Blanco will anchor the lines.
13. WEST BABYLON (4-5)
Coach: Joe Patrovich, first year
Key Players: Jahavi Reyes, QB/DB, Jr.; Anthony Appel, OL/DL, Sr.; Vladimir Doricent, WR/DB, Sr.; James Guzman, WR/DB, Sr, Sr.; Armando Luperon, RB/LB, So.
The Eagles: They are inexperienced but have a renewed enthusiasm. Patrovich is the only coach in Long Island history to win county titles in both Nassau and Suffolk. He won two titles with Division and three at Islip. Reyes has the potential to be an outstanding player. Sophomore Xavier Estevez (RB/DB) and junior Richard Strauss (WR/DB) are talented underclassmen.
14. DEER PARK (0-8)
Coach: Cody Ciolino, first year
Key Players: Joey Berrios WR/LB, Sr.; Thomas Lusardi, OL/DL, Sr.; Brandon Bailey, RB/LB, Sr; Ryan Gotay, OL/DL, Sr.; Anthony Decastro, RB/LB, Sr.; Franklin Carbajal, OL/DL, Soph.
The Falcons: They were winless last season. Sophomore Anthony Kern will start at quarterback. Berrios and freshman Christian Myrick will be his main targets. Deer Park allowed 43 points per game last season. The defense will be improved with Lusardi, Bailey, and Gotay leading the way.
DIVISION III
1. SAYVILLE (11-1)
Coach: Robert Hoss, first year
Key Players: Patrick Coan, QB, Sr.; Alex LaBella, OL/LB, Sr.; Javen Taff, TE/DE, Jr.; Richard Fontanetta, OL/DL, Sr.; Tristan Vitale, RB/DB, Sr.; Luke Neugebauer, WR/DB, Sr.
The Golden Flashes: Lost coach Reade Sands, who led the Flashes to four Suffolk III titles in eight seasons. Hoss claimed eight county crowns and led Sayville to a 130-29 record when he coached the team from 2002-16. Coan returns for his second year as the team’s starting QB along with several linemen from last year’s team that won the Suffolk III title. Expect the Flashes to be a top contender once again.

2. WESTHAMPTON (6-4)
Coach: Bryan Schaumloffel, eighth year
Key Players: Jake Calloway, QB/SS, Jr.; Patrick Fay, WR/FS, Sr.; Nic Simone, RB/LB, Jr.; Andrew Lewis, LB, Jr.; JP Peters, OL/DL, Sr.; Ben Magee, C/DL, Sr.
The Hurricanes: Will have an experienced offensive line with an average weight of 272 pounds. Calloway was injured in last year’s opener but returned and led the team to five straight wins and a playoff appearance. Westhampton lost to Sayville in the semifinals. Returning nine defensive starters, they will look for their first county title since 2017.
3. HALF HOLLOW HILLS WEST (9-2)
Coach: Gerald Filardi, seventh year
Key Players: Jayden Smith, RB/LB, Sr.; Kade Diaz, WR/LB, Sr.; Luke Taff, QB/DB, Sr.; Sal Caiazzo, WR/LB, Sr.; Jerrel Jenkins, TE/LB, Sr.; Myles Redd, WR/DB, Sr.
The Colts: Lost several impact players from Long Island’s most prolific offense , including QB Joseph Filardi. Taff tied for second at the NFF QB Challenge in July and will look to keep the Colts’ offense humming. Last year’s Suffolk III runners-up have holes to fill, but expect them to remain a top contender.
4. SMITHTOWN WEST (8-2)
Coach: Craig Perrino, fourth year
Key Players: Nick DeVito, QB, Sr.; Michael Cascione, RB/FS, Sr.; Nick Zins, HB/LB, Sr.; Vin Lepore, WR/LB, Sr.; Colten Ford, WR/LB, Sr.; Logan Tynebor, OL/DL, Sr.
The Bulls: Expect a big season from second-year starter DeVito, who won the NFF QB Challenge. Cascione had a strong junior season on both sides of the ball and Zins is a tackling machine. After reaching the Suffolk II semifinals last year, the Bulls add to an already strong Division III.
5. HAUPPAUGE (4-5)
Coach: Chris Diesso, third year
Key Players: Joe Pistritto, WR/DB, Sr.; Nick Lachapelle, QB, Sr.; Reuben Lewin, OL/DL, Sr.; Dom Green, OL/DL, Soph.; Liam O’Connor, RB/S, Jr.
The Eagles: Started 4-1, but injuries derailed their season. Pistritto caught six TD passes and recorded six interceptions. Lachapelle will look to build on a solid junior season. If the Eagles can stay healthy, they expect to finish this season strong.
6. EAST HAMPTON (5-4)
Coach: Joe McKee, 11th year
Key Players: Alex Davis, RB/LB, Sr.; Theo Ball, QB, Sr.; Livs Kuplins, WR/DB, Sr.; Charlie Stern, TE/LB, Sr.; Jackson Ronick, RB/LB, Jr.; James Corwin, RB/LB, Sr.
The Bonackers: Made the playoffs for the first time in 12 years . Davis is a prolific rusher and pairs with Ball for a dynamic backfield. With 10 starters returning on both sides of the ball, the squad has the tools to take the next step.
7. ISLIP (7-3)
Coach: Jamie Lynch, 20th year
Key Players: Jake DeGennaro, RB/WR/DB, Sr.; Jack Rao, QB/DB, Sr.; Louis Tuorto, HB/LB, Sr.; Matt Trovato, WR/DB, Sr.; Jhon Elmonuce, OT/DT, Jr.; Elijah Lewis, C/DT, Sr.
The Buccaneers: Boast a talented group of skill players in an explosive offense. Rao transitions from WR to QB, taking over for Brady Nash, who led Islip to the Suffolk III semifinals. With three returning starting offensive linemen and a veteran secondary, the Buccaneers appear primed for another playoff appearance.
8. WEST ISLIP (1-7)
Coach: Steve Mileti, 17th year
Key Players: TJ Sonnenberg, QB/CB, Sr.; Jovan Brewster, RB/CB, Sr.; Max Tate, LB/DE/OG, Sr.; Conor Kenefick, WR/FS, Sr.; Jake Kramer, RB, Jr.; Luke Tate, OG/DT, Jr.
The Lions: Make their Suffolk III debut after 44 years in Division II and one year (2011) in Division I. After a disappointing season riddled with injuries, the Lions will lean on Sonnenberg, Brewster and Kenefick in what could be an explosive offense.
9. COMSEWOGUE (4-5)
Coach: Sean Tremblay, 14th year
Key Players: James Ward, OL/DL, Sr.; Nick Saladino, QB, Sr.; Danny Cappiello, OL/DL, Jr.; Connor Rocchio, RB/LB, Sr.; Logan McCaffrey, WR/DB, Jr.; Izaiah Iacono Martinez, OL/DL, Jr.
Comsewogue: Expects to have a more dynamic passing attack with Saladino at the helm. A talented and deep pool of linemen on both sides of the ball will be the strength of the team, which looks for a third straight playoff appearance.
10. EASPORT SOUTH-MANOR (3-6)
Coach: Guy Buckley, second year
Key Players: Max Ferraro, RB/LB, Sr.; Joe Hershey, RB/LB, Jr.; Thomas Powers, TE/LB, Jr.; Cole Klein, WR/CB, Jr.; Nolan Douglas, OL/DL, Sr.; Joseph Green, RB/LB, Jr.
The Sharks: Made the playoffs for the first time since 2018 in Buckley’s first season. Ferraro rushed for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns and Hershey added 700 rushing yards and five TDs.
11. HARBORFIELDS (2-6)
Coach: Rocco Colucci, 10th year
Key Players: Matthew Ferranti, RB/S, Sr.; Matthew Rampersaud, RB/S, Sr.; Landon Paulino, QB/S, Sr.; Dean Mason, OL/DL, Sr.; Ethan Roman, WR/S, Jr.; TJ Brown, OL/DL, Jr.
The Tornadoes: Were plagued with injuries last year that led to opportunities for younger players, who will be tasked with replacing several key pieces who graduated . The Tornadoes expect to have a hard-hitting defense and a balanced offense.
12. ROCKY POINT (2-6)
Coach: Anthony DiLorenzo, 15th year

The Phantoms: Dominated their way to a third straight Suffolk IV title, but their reign as back-to-back Long Island champions ended with a loss to Wantagh. Most and his 6-4 frame will be the main target for Clark. Ahern will lead a stout defense and Reyer will lead the rushing attack on the quest for more postseason hardware.
2. BABYLON (8-2)
Coach: Rick Punzone, 23rd year
Key Players: Aidan Winter, RB/LB, Sr.; Kai Jankow, QB/DB, Sr.; Christian Seidenberg, OL/DL, Sr.; Christian Molnar, WR/DB, Sr.; Jaiden Millner, TE/LB, Sr.; Keven Bonilla, WR/DB, Jr.
The Panthers: Will lean on Winter, who became Babylon’s all-time leader rusher last season with 4,750 career yards. Babylon hopes to open the passing game in Jankow’s second year. After a loss to Miller Place in the semifinals, the team will look to claim its first Suffolk IV title since 2013.

3. KINGS PARK (1-7)
Coach: Mark O’Brien, 31st year

The Kingsmen: Make the transition from Suffolk III to Suffolk IV. Kings Park was inexperienced last year, with just eight seniors on the team. With a veteran offensive line led by Vicinanza, McKigney and Bailes, expect a more run-heavy offense with the shifty Barbosa carrying the load.
4. MOUNT SINAI (4-5)
Coach: Vin Ammirato, 28th year
Key Players: Wesley Moody, OL/DL, Sr.; Dontae Spadaro, RB/LB, Sr.; Max Sorrentino, QB, Sr.; George Saunders, OL/DL, Soph.; Brandon Steele, OL/DL, Jr.; Rommy Zheng, OL/LB, Sr.
The Mustangs: Return four starting offensive linemen, with the 6-4, 270-pound Moody leading the group. Sorrentino became the starting QB in Week 3 last year and threw for 1,278 yards and 16 touchdowns. He’ll be tasked with orchestrating the offense at a higher tempo.
5. MILLER PLACE (8-3)
Coach: Adam St. Nicholas, seventh year
Key Players: Shane Kiernan, QB, Sr.; AJ Rudolph, WR/DB, Sr.; Bradyn Ellis, OL/DL, Jr.; Camryn Hardy, RB/DB/LB, Sr.; Jack Abbott, WR/DB, Sr.
The Panthers: Lost to Bayport-Blue Point in the county final. Kiernan threw for 2,885 yards and 29 TDs . All 11 defensive starters from last year’s team graduated, but the Panthers believe they have the pieces to fill those holes and remain in title contention.
6. GLENN (5-5)
Coach: TJ Brocking, first year
Key Players: Joe Competiello, QB/DB, Sr.; Luca Paliscaino, OL/DL, Sr.; Keith King, RB/LB Soph.; GJ Cook, RB/LB, Soph.; CJ Mascia, WR/DB, Sr.; Aras Buz, OL/DL, Jr.
The Knights: Will be led by Brocking after 30-year coach Dave Shanahan announced his retirement. Competiello caught 44 passes for 750 yards and nine TDs. He’ll take over at QB and pair with King in the backfield.
7. SHOREHAM-WADING RIVER (4-5)
Coach: Aden Smith, ninth year
Key Players: Noah Gregorek, QB/DB, Soph.; Gavin Cleary, WR/DB, Soph.; George Greene, QB/DB, Sr.; Connor McAlvin, OL/DL, Sr.; Luke Tezcan, OL/DL, Jr.; Anthony Mullen, RB/LB, Sr.
The Wildcats: Reached the playoffs last year with only two returning starters from the 2023 season. Gregorek had an impact as a freshman and is expected to make a leap as a sophomore. Greene moves back to his natural position at DB after finishing second on the team with 48 tackles at LB.
8. CENTER MORICHES (5-4)
Coach: Matt Millheiser, third year
Key Players: Peter Nizza, WR/DB, Sr.; Dennis Hayes, RB/LB, Sr.; Max Cintron, OL/DL, Jr.; Michael Sheehan, OL/DL, Jr.; Michael Gold, TE/LB, Sr.; Christian Versacci, DB/WR, Jr.
The Red Devils: Lost to Glenn in the first round of the playoffs. Center Moriches will rely on its outstanding athleticism as it searches for a playoff win. Nizza and Hayes will lead the offense, which is expected to open up this season.
9. HAMPTON BAYS (3-5)
Coach: Sean Gil, third year
Key Players: Michael Single, RB/LB, Jr.; Brayden Talmage, WR/SS, Jr.; Agron Bytyqi, OL/DL, Sr.; Josh Reyes, TE/LB, Sr.; Owen Haynes, WR/DB, Jr.
The Baymen: Established a strong foundation last year after two seasons without a varsity team. Will lean on Single and Talmage as they look to build on last year’s record.
10. PORT JEFFERSON (3-6)
Coach: Josh Shields, fourth year
