High school roundup: Boys and girls basketball

Kyle Edmundson scored 40 points and added nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks to lead Kings Park to a 75-62 win over Glenn in non-league boys basketball action on Saturday. Michael Svolos added 12 points for Kings Park (4-3). Justin Govan’s 24 points and CJ Mascia’s 22 paced Glenn (3-3).
Floyd 61, Martin Van Buren 58: Sharod Sutton Jr. posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and also collected two blocks and two steals to lead Floyd (6-1) in non-league. Ja’Quan Thomas added 19 points and eight rebounds and JJ Smith contributed 12 points in the win.
Sachem East 53, Sachem North 46: Aden-Amir Jones posted a double-double with 20 points and had 10 rebounds to help lead Sachem East (5-2) in non-league. Brayden King also finished with a double-double, posting 10 points and 12 rebounds. Jadice Sadler racked up 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and five steals in the win. Jacob Steffens scored 14 points and made four three-pointers for North (2-6).
West Hempstead 53, Farmingdale 51: Alex Davis scored 16 points and Yency Duran added 14 to help West Hempstead (8-2) hold on to the lead in non-league play. Mateo Morales finished with 16 points, Dylan Coleman chipped in 15 and Brendan LoFaro had 11 for Farmingdale (7-2).
St. Dominic 64, Forest Hills 55: Melo Mojeed totaled 22 points, five assists, two steals and three blocks to lead St. Dominic (6-3) in non-league. Tyler Liautaud scored 19 points and Nick Lang added eight points and 16 rebounds in the win.
Longwood 79, Comsewogue 70: Khomari Wilson scored 25 points to lead Longwood (6-1) in non-league. Michael MacKenzie contributed 14 points in the win. RJ Varland led all scorers with 28 points for Comsewogue (4-4), and James Ward added 25 points in the loss.
Smithtown West 79, Deer Park 74: Michael Cascione posted a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds and added five assists to lead Smithtown West (7-1) in a battle for first place in Suffolk III. Tim Bannell chipped in 22 points and Casey Burton scored 11 in the win. Nusanti Delbridge led Deer Park (6-2) with 26 points, followed by Reggie Jean Louis with 20.
Kellenberg 54, Portledge 49: Luke O’Connor scored 19 points and Mike Tagios added 16 to lead Kellenberg (4-2) in non-league. Princeton Pinsky and Joe Burke chipped in seven and five points, respectively. Marcus Lambright hit a pair of free throws with three seconds left to seal it. Carter Abrahams had 16 for Portledge (3-7).
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Bay Shore 42, Sachem East 41: Kaitlyn Brewer made a three-point field goal with 3:58 left in the game to give Bay Shore (8-1) the lead for good in Suffolk I girls action. Brewer finished with nine points. Kimora Pearson led all scorers with 15 points and Leahlani Ellis added 10 points in the victory. Freshman Aubree Covatch made her season debut after missing time because of an injury and played strong defense, contributing four rebounds and two steals to the victory. Isabella Longo led Sachem East (2-7) with 12 points and hit a three-pointer with half a second left in the game to cut the final margin down to one point.
New Hyde Park 52, Division 47: Maeve Downing scored 26 points and Kayden Erazo added 13 to help New Hyde Park (5-4) fend off Division (1-6) in non-league. Downing also hit a trio of three-pointers in the win. Abigail Gregory finished with 15 points and Miyah Miralis contributed 14 for Division.
Wantagh 49, Manhasset 45: Kayla Mannix racked up 16 points, six rebounds and five assists to lead Wantagh (9-1) in non-league. Isabelle Ferraro had 14 points and five steals, and Makayla McNeil chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds. Danielle Perfetto led Manhasset (5-4) with 18 points.
