Kyle Flood pitched six scoreless innings in relief to propel Smithtown West to a 6-4 win over West Islip in a 15-inning Suffolk IV baseball game that started on Wednesday and was continued on Thursday. Jake Hutter and Ryan Napolitano scored the go-ahead runs in the top of the 15th on a throwing error. Jax Cascione struck out five in 4 2⁄3 scoreless innings of relief. Michael Cascione and Jimmy Rao each had two hits and scored a run as Smithtown West (11-1) clinched a playoff spot.

Eastport-South Manor 3, Comsewogue 2: Ralph Betner escaped a bases loaded, one-out jam in the bottom of the seventh inning by getting a strikeout and flyout to earn the save for ESM (12-0) in Suffolk V. Memphis Lanier struck out three and allowed six hits in six innings to earn the win. Nick Lawrence went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and Thomas Gargiulo went 3-for-4.

WEDNESDAY’S GAME

East Hampton 9, Half Hollow Hills West 1: Trevor Meehan threw a no-hitter on 101 pitches, striking out 11 batters and walking four to lead East Hampton (7-4) in Suffolk V. Mason Miles went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and an RBI. Victor Aguero finished 2-for-3 with a three-run home run.

SOFTBALL

Central Islip 8, Patchogue-Medford 4: Cesia Alvarez Auccalla drove in Bre Dhanraj on a go-ahead single to center in the top of the eighth for Central Islip (7-5) in Suffolk I. Jada Lello went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and drove in Alvarez Aucallo and Lianna Mills on a tying double in the seventh. Julianna Lograsso went 2-for-3 with four RBIs for Patchogue-Medford (11-3).

Lynbrook 13, Valley Stream North 8: Bianca Lobosco went 4-for-5 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs to lead Lynbrook (11-3) in Nassau V. Emma Mylan went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and three RBIs and Angelina Macchia went 2-for-3 with two runs and four RBIs.

Carle Place 6, Carey 0: Marissa Nosovitch struck out 18 in a one-hit shutout and went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two doubles to lead Carle Place (10-5) in Nassau III. Isabella Roman had a double and two RBIs.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Whitman 11, Bellport 8: Bella Fiorelli had six goals and two assists and Addison Duffy made 14 saves to lead Whitman (5-6) in Suffolk I. Kate Macaluso and Maeve Connolly each added two goals. Madeline Fox scored three goals and Taylor LaGrega had two goals and an assist for Bellport (3-9).

WEDNESDAY’S GAME

Bethpage 11, Mepham 9: Caroline O’Connell recorded her 100th career point and Grace Miller recorded her 100th career goal to help Bethpage (8-6) in Nassau II. Miller scored seven goals and O’Connell added three goals and three assists. Emily Caputo made nine saves. Grace Skulavik had five goals for Mepham (4-7).

South Side 13, Syosset 12: Luke Mullen scored the winning goal with six seconds left as South Side (8-3) erased a 12-5 fourth-quarter deficit in Nassau I. John Hawthorne had four goals and two assists and Tyler Sumrani added three goals and an assist. Alec Notaro won 8 of 11 faceoffs in the fourth quarter and Cole Schiefelbein added 10 saves. Giovanni Accardo had two goals and two assists for Syosset (5-6).

Connetquot 9, Huntington 8: Carson Turissini had four goals and an assist and A.J. Jeffares had two goals and four assists to lead Connetquot (9-2) in Suffolk I. Colten Stellwagen made 12 saves.
