Newsday's annual list, in alphabetical order, of the top competitors in Long Island high school girls wrestling heading into this season. All stats are from last season unless otherwise noted, and rankings mentioned are for all of Long Island.

Reese Adams, Calhoun, 132, Sr.

She missed last year with an injury and is ranked fourth at 132. As a sophomore, she placed fifth in the state invitational at 114 pounds.

Olivia Anello, Bellport, 100, Soph.

She defeated her opponent by technical fall, 10-0, for the Suffolk title at 94 pounds. She placed fourth in the inaugural state tournament.

Arianna Balsamo, Long Beach, 152, Soph.

She was the Nassau runner-up at 152 pounds and is ranked fourth in that weight class.

Alexa Benitez, Glen Cove, 185, Soph.

She was the Nassau runner-up at 185 pounds and is ranked fifth in that weight class.

Lily Blenk, Bellport, 126, Jr.

She pinned her opponent in 3:57 for the Suffolk title at 120 pounds. She went 28-4 and was the runner-up in the both the state tournament and the Eastern States Classic.

Taylor Brock, MacArthur, 132, Fr.

She pinned her opponent in 1:06 for the 132-pound Nassau title. Ranked fifth at 132.

Sofia Calle, Long Beach, 165, Soph.

She was the Nassau runner-up at 165 pounds and is ranked third in that weight class.

Alicia Cardona, East Islip, 107, Soph.

She took fourth in Suffolk at 107 pounds and is ranked second at 107.

Mariza Catalan Hernandez, Town of Huntington, 126, Sr.

She is ranked third at 126 pounds.

Makenna Corcoran, East Islip, 145, Jr.

She was the Suffolk runner-up at 145 pounds. Ranked second at 145.

Kaitlyn Costa, Town of Huntington, 152, Sr.

She was the Suffolk runner-up and is ranked third at 152 pounds.

Rubi De La Cruz, Copiague, 107, Jr.

She was the Suffolk runner-up at 100 pounds and is ranked No. 1 at 107.

Zoe Edmorin, Copiague, 114, Sr.

Edmorin placed fourth in Suffolk and is ranked fourth at 114.

She pinned her opponent in 4:46 for the 100-pound Nassau title. She is ranked third at 114.

Presley Eidens, Long Beach, 114, Fr.

She pinned her opponent in 5:10 for the 107-pound Nassau title. She is ranked No. 2 at 114.

Sydney Fisher, Bay Shore, 235, Sr.

Fisher pinned her opponent in 1:41 for the 235-pound Suffolk title. Ranked third at 235.

Mia Flores, MacArthur, 235, Jr.

Flores won the 235-pound title at the Eastern States Classic. She went 14-3 and was the runner-up at both the Nassau and state tournaments.

Miiko Foster, Bellport, 185, Soph.

She pinned her opponent in 2:00 for the 185-pound Suffolk title.

Sabrina Gabuna, East Islip, 94, Fr.

She is ranked No. 1 at 94 pounds.

Haley Gonzales, Hicksville, 132, Sr.

Gonzales overcame a 9-0 deficit and secured a pin in 5:45 to win the 120-pound state title. She went 18-1 and claimed the Nassau title with an 11-0 technical fall.

Naomi Gonzalez, Valley Stream North, 235, Sr.

She was the Nassau champion at 235 pounds and claimed third place in the state tournament with an 11-1 technical fall.

Julianna Hernandez, Rocky Point, 132, Soph.

She defeated Sara Pauls (Minisink Valley) by technical fall, 18-6, for the 126-pound state title. She won an 8-3 decision for the Suffolk title and went 16-1.

Zoey Hernandez, Rocky Point, 100, 8th

She was the Suffolk runner-up at 94 pounds and is ranked second at 100.

Jimin Hur, Jericho, 138, Sr.

Hur was the Nassau runner-up at 132 pounds and is ranked third at 138.

Kyleigh Kershner, East Islip, 185, Jr.

Kershner was the Suffolk runner-up and is ranked third at 185 pounds.

Zoe Long, Town of Huntington, 107, Jr.

Long was the Suffolk runner-up and is ranked fourth at 107 pounds.

Caitlin Maragioglio, Bellport, 132, Jr.

She was the Suffolk runner-up and placed fourth in the state tournament at 126 pounds. She took sixth at 125 pounds in the 16U women’s freestyle in the Fargo Nationals.

Arianna Maria, East Islip, 145, Sr.

She placed fourth at 138 pounds in Suffolk and is ranked fifth at 145.

Brianna Marquez, Uniondale, 107, Jr.

She was the Nassau runner-up at 107 pounds and is ranked third in that weight class.

Jessica Marzano, Bethpage, 145, Jr.

She pinned her opponent in 1:34 for the Nassau title at 138 pounds. Ranked fourth at 145.

Melody Medina, Bay Shore, 165, Jr.

She is ranked No. 1 at 165 pounds.

Aaliyah Morrow, Bellport, 165, Sr.

Morrow won by technical fall, 12-2, to claim the Suffolk title at 152 pounds. She went 27-4 and was the runner-up at both the state tournament and the Eastern States Classic.

Brooke-Lynn Murray, Bay Shore, 138, Sr.

Murray won a 6-4 decision for the Suffolk title at 138 pounds and placed fourth in the state tournament. She was the runner-up at the Eastern States Classic.

Taiwo Olusemie, Sewanhaka West, 185, Soph.

Olusemie took sixth place in Nassau at 152 pounds. Ranked No. 1 at 185.

Emma Palencia, Roslyn, 126, Sr.

She was the Nassau runner-up at 120 pounds, losing to eventual state champion Haley Gonzales of Hicksville. She is ranked fifth at 126.

Grace Palumbo, MacArthur, 120, Jr.

She is ranked third at 120 pounds.

Ava Phillips, East Islip, 120, Jr.

She pinned her opponent in 3:15 for third place at 120 pounds in Suffolk. Ranked fourth at 120.

Scotlynn Piehler, East Islip, 185, Soph.

Piehler took fourth in Suffolk at 185 pounds and is ranked sixth in that weight class.

Miranda Pineiro, Bellport, 120, Jr.

She was the Suffolk runner-up at 114 pounds. Ranked fifth at 120.

Katie Porcelli, Rocky Point, 114, Jr.

Porcelli pinned her opponent in 2:26 to claim the Suffolk title at 107 pounds. She placed fourth in the state tournament.

She was the Nassau runner-up at 145 pounds and is ranked third in that weight class.

She pinned her opponent in 4:57 for the Nassau title at 126 pounds and is ranked second in that weight class.

She missed most of the season with an elbow injury but returned for the postseason and pinned her way to the Nassau title at 114 pounds. She was the state runner-up.

Mia Severino, Copiague, 120, Fr.

She claimed the Suffolk title at 114 pounds with a 10-0 technical fall. She placed fifth in the state tournament.

Veronica Sky Williams, Bellport, 145, Sr.

She pinned her opponent in 39 seconds for the Suffolk title at 145 pounds. The Floyd student placed fifth in the state tournament with a pin in 1:55.

Angelica Smiech, Rocky Point, 107, Sr.

She is ranked fifth at 107.

Isabella Steffa, MacArthur, 165, Sr.

She pinned her opponent in 1:55 for the 165-pound Nassau title and is ranked second in that weight class.

She won a 6-3 decision for the Nassau title at 152 pounds. She placed third in the state tournament.

Melania Turano, Bay Shore, 138, Jr.

Turano was the Suffolk runner-up at 132 pounds. Ranked No. 1 at 138.

Eyslin Turcios, Valley Stream, 185, Sr.

Turcios claimed the Nassau title at 185 pounds with a pin in 2:10 and is ranked second in that weight class.
