BOSTON — Ottawa Senators goaltender Linus Ullmark exited his team's game at the Boston Bruins on Monday night after tweaking something when he was crashed into during the second period, according to coach Travis Green.

Backup Samuel Ersson replaced Ullmark in net for the third period.

“Precautionary,” Green said. “We just felt it was best that we bring him out.”

Ullmark was slow to get up after Boston forward JJ Peterka collided with him after getting shoved by Ottawa's William Eklund with 4:24 left in the second. Green said that was the collision that caused Ullmark to feel something was off.

Ullmark stopped all 15 shots he faced, and Ottawa led 4-0 when he departed. The 33-year-old Swede was back on the bench early in the third period, Ersson allowed one goal and the Senators beat the Bruins 4-1 to improve to 2-0 this season.
