WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark will help NBC tip off its new “Basketball Night in America” series on Sunday when she appears as a special contributor on the network’s coverage of the Knicks-Lakers game from Madison Square Garden.

Clark, 24, is the star point guard for the Indiana Fever. She will join the NBC studio team of Maria Taylor, Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady on Sunday’s pregame show.

“I’m really excited to be part of the Basketball Night in America crew this season,” Clark said in a statement. “Carmelo, Vince, and Tracy are legends of the game and Maria is a true professional. It will be really fun to join them a few times this season."

Clark also will appear on the pregame show on March 29 when the Knicks visit the Oklahoma City Thunder. (The game will be shown on NBC's Peacock streaming service.)

“Caitlin is one of the most captivating players and dynamic scorers in basketball,” said NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood. “We’re excited to have Caitlin join Hall of Famers Melo, Vince, Tracy and Reggie in New York for the launch of Sunday Night Basketball.”

NBA has added the NBA to its portfolio of Sunday night sports offerings. NBC already has Sunday Night Football and on March 29 will debut Sunday Night Baseball, which will no longer be on ESPN.
