Riverhead Raceway has postponed Saturday night's racing schedule and related events because of weather.

Saturday had been scheduled to be America's Military Services Night and Scout Appreciation Night at the track. Eight divisions were scheduled to race with qualifying beginning at 5:15 p.m. and the featured races starting at 6 p.m., followed by fireworks at the conclusion of racing.

The event will now take place on June 6.

All active and veteran military members will receive 50% discounted admission rates and scouts in full color guard will receive free admission.

The June 6 event will feature seven divisions including crate modified, super pro trucks and late models. It also will be hosted with Local Sports League Night, an event celebrating the area's youth sports teams. That event will feature a car demolition derby. League teams in full uniform will receive discounted admission rates.

Riverhead Raceway’s next event will be the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at 3 p.m. on May 30. The region's best drivers will race in a 200-lap event that will honor revered modified driver Don Howe.
