LE MANS, France — Newly promoted Le Mans signed veteran defender Djibril Sidibe on a two-year-contract on Tuesday with the option for an extra year.

The 34-year-old right back was a free agent and is the sixth signing of the offseason for Le Mans, which hosts Brest in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Sidibe won the 2018 World Cup with France and made 18 international appearances.

He won the Ligue 1 title with Monaco in 2017, featuring in the league's team of the year. He also played for Lille and Toulouse in Ligue 1 and for Everton in the Premier League.
