Lego and Pokémon — two powerhouse brands beloved by kids and adult collectors — are teaming up for the first time with a series of building sets already sparking excitement among fans and online resellers eager to catch ’em all.
Denmark-based Lego Group announced Monday that the first wave of kits will arrive in stores and online Feb. 27. The initial lineup features three sets built around fan favorites Pikachu, Eevee, Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise.
In its announcement, Lego said the sets will be available at Lego stores and select retailers starting Feb. 27. Long Island has two Lego stores — one inside Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City and another at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove — according to the company’s website.

“Bringing the world of Pokémon to life in Lego bricks is both an exciting opportunity and a great responsibility,” Julia Goldin, chief product and marketing officer for the Lego Group, said in a statement Monday. “This partnership opens up a whole new range of possibilities.”
